The Przybyla Family…..Yes, I know. Can I buy a vowel in that last name. Thanks to my dear husband, Dave, for a lifetime of spelling that one.
And let’s start with him. Dave and I met in college at Illinois State University. I carried him through biochemistry and thankfully, he did the same for me in physical and quantum chemistry. He’s one smart dude (although sometimes I question that statement). He’s got a Ph.D. in organic chemistry and currently works for Monsanto as a seed coating scientist. Better than his previous job where he literally watched paint dry! He’s a chronically injured runner with way too many injuries to keep up with. But someday soon he’ll get back into it. He caught the Les Mills bug (thanks to me) and now teaches RPM and BodyPump. Yep he’s pretty fit too. He’s my motivation, inspiration and my funny guy all wrapped up into one swell guy. He’s a great husband and proving to be an even better father. And he makes a pretty mean margarita.
And there’s me. My about page will tell you more. But there’s always more to tell. I struggled to find a passion until my weight loss journey sparked a love for all things health and wellness. I went back to school as a 30 year old undergrad to pursue nutrition (undergrad was definitely different that time around, luckily it was only for 2 semesters). Ever since, I know I’m in the right place. Being a stay at home mom for over a year made me feel quite separated from the career I love, hence the creation of this blog. It’s a way to keep my brain from going to mush and allow me to continue growing and learning. Random fact about me: I have a Master’s Degree in Molecular Pharmacology and can tell you all about the signalling pathways of the dopamine receptors in our brains…. pretty nerdy, huh?
Then there’s the big girl in our lives. Our daughter, Corrine Stacey, was born in September 2013. It’s hard to summarize what your child means to you in a few sentences. It’s just not possible. She went from a mellow easy going baby to now, a demanding dictator toddler that has opinions and can swing a mood with the best of them! She keeps me on my toes everyday but I love it! Look for lots of stories about her on the blog.
The little girl in our lives, Joelle Marcy, just arrived in July 2015. She’s a sweet yet demanding little one that wants things her way. If she’s not happy, she’ll let you know in only a way babies can. She’s completed our family and quickly stolen our hearts. Corrine loves to be the big sis to this babe. I can’t wait to see them grow up together.
The other man in my life is my sweet boy Cody, our golden retriever. We got him with the hopes of having a running companion. But what we got is a different story. He is definitely not a runner, he’s more of a chronic relaxer. I think he’s run a total of 5 miles in his entire life. But not for lack of trying. Cody is so tolerant of his toddler sister and is always willing to give a big furry hug.
