Well, my little stinker, my little turkey Jo Jo is now half a year old. She’s 6 months! I’m not going to say the time has flown by because honestly, it hasn’t. I’ve enjoyed most moments thus far. Many moments have been less than easy. One or two nights, made me almost lose my mind and toss her out the window (lovingly of course).
At 6 months Joelle is 14 lbs 14 oz and 27 inches long. Much smaller than her sis. Check out the side by side.
Joelle is such a happy baby for the most part. She’ll wake up babbling and kicking her legs. She loves to blow raspberries and bubbles. Everything goes in her mouth, but that’s to be expected at her age. She’s still working on sitting up unsupported. Her doc says she’s struggling with this because her head is still quite a bit larger than the rest of her body. We’re working on plumping this baby up.
Speaking of food, Joelle’s experience with solid food continues. In the last month update post she had just tried oatmeal cereal. Unlike when Corrine transitioned to solids, Joelle is flying through new foods. I was overly cautious with Corrine and now, not so much with Joelle. She’s tried sweet potato, avocado, banana, apple, peaches, prunes, carrots and will get some green beans tonight.
Surprisingly, all went over well. She doesn’t appear to have a preference yet. But she does get full very quickly and really pissy when she’s full. She’ll set off an intense and loud cry. There is no middle ground with this kid. She’s either hungry or full (and mad about it). Corrine is having a great time with sissy eating. She often wants to help feed her. It’s too cute.
What else can I say about her sixth month of life? She had her first Christmas and with the help of her sissy, she got to experience the thrill of opening gifts. She also got to meet her twin cousins Amelia and Jack. Trying to get four pairs of baby eyes to focus on one point is not easy. But they are sure cute.
Here are some more photos of I got from Joelle’s six month set.
